ATOMIC TWISTER (2002) *1/2 It's everything that you would hope, fear, and expect from the title, and fore armed with the knowledge that it's a TBS production. A series of twisters in Tennessee attack the nuclear power plant (giving new meaning to the term "eco terrorism") thereby setting in motion a series of events that sees the young deputy reunited with his fiancee' after she trashes her Firebird and he lifts weights, a young boy play Twister so that he can look down his babysitter's shirt, a grizzled old male chauvinist turn chivalrous and try and save the women folk, an aging hoodlum in a Kiss t-shirt buck authority in his efforts to corral his runaway intellect and thereby save the world, a trucker run for the border, houses take to the air like birds, and many other such sub-plots. There's very little limitation of the ongoing human drama. Of course it's all very predictable, which is reassuring when you're dealing with nuclear disaster. See?! When everyone pitches in and is a team player we can keep the nuclear power plant from blowing up the world! Of course if we would have listened to the prophetic individualists in the first place, no one would have to worry about events requiring team players.
