CATS & DOGS (2001) ** Anyone who hasn't noticed the historic ongoing battle between dogs and cats hasn't been paying any attention at all, and anyone who didn't imagine it something like this had very little imagination as an eight year old. All the more reason to make the movie. Unfortunately there's not a lot more reason for adults to watch it, unless they enjoy simply looking at dogs and cats, or trying to identify computer graphics. It's fun to identify the voices without looking at the credits-anyone can pick out Susan Sarandon in her sub-Rocky Horror mode but I was wrong about the one that I thought was John Lithgow-shame on whoever else sounded like that. It's Red Sox-Yankees, Arsenal-Manchester United, you've got to pick sides in such monumental matters and I'm pleased to report that the good guys win.
