AVP: ALIEN VS. PREDATOR (2004) *1/2 More like inferior variations on inferior themes of Indiana Jones, with monsters attached. Very inferior, if you get my drift. At the beginning there are too many humans, and you just wish they would get on with the monsters. Then the stupid monsters show up and you're willing to take the humans back. There is some socio-babble by way of effort towards a foundation but this baby was always going to live or die on the backs of its hideous monsters. Which is a problem, for me. They're just hideous. Stupid and hideous. None of the elegance or class that graces, you know, Godzilla and Mothra, Bruce Willis, Homer Simpson..just stupid and hideous. Some work was done on them, I don't want to lead you astray. If you're a grown man who sits around working on models all day, and gets particularly enthused when there's too much glue running all over the place, this just might be the film for you. I'm still not sure. I am sure that they had a substantial goo budget.
