BOH LEE CHUN (Gorgeous, 1999) ** Determinedly goofy and cornball movie revolving around shamefully malnourished plot. Heart's in the right place though, and very pleased to have it there. Qi Shu and Jackie Chan don't strike me as romantically probable, but they're both appealing on film and a lot more entertaining than the neighbors. Jackie's even better matched with Bradley James Allan, dance partners made in heaven. I'm not sure how well it works out conceptually; screwball Chinese romance comedy/martial arts comedy hybrid; but it's entertaining and not irritating due to its refusal.no, inability.to take itself seriously. So I don't either, and join with it in laughing at itself. Fodder for the easily amused, sure; high art, definitely not; good use of time, depends. Ok, that's fine with me. Yeah, large popcorn and a soda, back outside before the afternoon wears down, cloak the rocky places with bubblegum if you don't believe it will work. I wasn't planning on playing in the Kierkegaard league today anyway.
