THE BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE (1962) *1/2 "Except," as my clever son points out, "it did die." Oh well minor details, and yeah, why does the monster look more like Humpty Dumpty than Frankenstein? Some of the motion shots work nicely, probably inspiration for The Blair Witch Project . Um. Well, wouldn't it have been really cool if at some point Jason Evers and Leslie Daniels could have worked with Edward Wood, Jr.? Only he, I believe, could have utilized their talents to the fullest extent for the ultimate benefit to mankind. Evers is particularly adept at repeating his lines, repeating his lines. Some may like the fact that since the mad scientist has to find a body to glue onto his girlfriend's head, he's pretty much excused from looking at faces during his brief but daring research romp through strip clubs and swimsuit contests. Knowing that, and that it's rated PG, probably gives you everything you need to know, and if you watch it anyway it'll give you everything you deserve.
