CARRY ON UP THE JUNGLE (1970) ** I like the really bad gorilla suit. It's funny. The rest of it is more relentless than amusing, but it's amusing how relentless it is. There is no doubt a limitation on the variation of sexual/physical jokes, but they don't begin to find it. It pretty much just find one or two and stay in the same place. That's kind of funny, it's not challenging. I also kind of like the idea of an everyman Tarzan, there's no reason you can't develop a paunch sitting around in a tree house. It all goes pretty much according to plan-such as it is- and the Aphrodesia really do appear to be a tribe that some grad student might want to investigate a bit further.
