DESTINATION MOON (1950) ** Robert A. Heinlein obviously kept close tabs on the space program. He was up to date on the cutting edge stuff (other than the moon not being a planet), and he did a very good job guessing from there. Yeah some of the misses are laughable....now, and only now. As a film it hasn't aged all that well-low budget and generally unimaginative effects and it could have used better actors, more dramatic music, they unnecessarily get stuck on scenes, etc.-but it's a fun storyline, and I particularly enjoyed Heinlein's subtext of the only people actually accomplishing much of anything having to work directly against law enforcement in order to do it.
