FOR THE LOVE OF ADA (1972) *1/2 Aging couple celebrate their first anniversary amidst all sorts of silly confusion. At first it tries to be a comedy, but isn't very fun. Then it threatens to become a tragedy, but it's heart was never really into that . Then it just kind of settles into something where cast and crew and audience can all just kind of wonder "What just happened? Did anything?" Ah, it's all amiable enough and gives you time to dwell on the wonderful British working class accents of Wilfred Pickles, Irene Handl and Hilda Braid. Apparently there's a whole series of this stuff. I don't really need to see it.
