GENEVIEVE (1953) 1/2* I think that one definition of a terrible movie-a terrible one-is that you wish that anyone--Arnold Schwarzenegger jumps to mind-would just come in and kill everyone with a laser gun. Not the actors, you know, just the characters: put them out of their misery and end mine. Married people who bitch incessantly over the most trivial crap, and don't really ever have any good moments. Friends who are friends apparently for the sole purpose of having anyone to put up with them, that they can't stand. A stupid road race, it's incredible that the genre was ever again willing to show its face. Proto-yuppies all, in the most derogatory and least substantive sense of the term.
