THE GRUFFALO (2009) ** I really like Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's book-it's a wonderful little story-and the animation is cool in a simple round way. Unfortunately stretching a book that takes about ten minutes to read into even a 30 minute visual narrative...it's just too much stretching and diluting for me. I still enjoyed it, though, and taking that much more off of what was a very casual pace is going to appeal to some people. The little kids are going to laugh at the silly animals, nothing wrong with that.
