THE INVINCIBLE IRON MAN (2007) ** One of the great unlearned lessons of the first few thousands of years of human existence is that just because extremists are extremely against something that you're also extremely against...that doesn't mean that they don't entirely unreasonably support something that you're very much against...and that second something might turn out to be even worse than the first one, once they're behind it. Even if they're, you know, a hot cartoon Chinese chick. And so Tony Stark must become Iron Man. I like all of the Oriental Mysticism-sure it's cartoon like, I'd be very surprised to hear that anyone with serious esoteric ambitions or pretensions even noticed-it adds an element of "other" that should be present in any superhero comic stuff anyway, but it doesn't hurt to back it up and balance it off. Accurate and fascinating look at the inner dynamic of corporations, in my opinion.
