KRAKATOA: EAST OF JAVA (1969) * A terrible disappointment. The previews looked so great when I was a little kid, and then I never saw it...and now I did. It's supposed to be about one of the great volcanic eruptions in the history of mankind. They mix in drugs and tragedy and a quartet of Oriental babes. They should have stayed home. No one's very good, no one's bad enough to notice, nothing happens including the volcano...the best parts were more glorious entirely out of context in those previews. Ah hell, if I have to say something nice at least it's kind of a cool looking movie, and the volcano always threatens that something interesting might happen.
