LAST HOLIDAY (2006) **1/2 You makin' a comedy about someone with a terminal disease, you better have a good plot twist or some particularly humorous insight into heaven. They got something like one of those, and Queen Latifah too! The Queen, she can handle that shit, you know. She tough. Lots of funny scenes, a very funny gospel scene, warm ending that I hope you saw coming before the opening credits were half out...nobody actuall' soun' like they frawm Nawlin', but, you know, ain' gownna let ah' bowthuh me none... If you're generally inclined to get angry at movies that strike you as in any way unrealistic, you might try a documentary instead; but if you're the sort who thinks that anything that makes you feel good on a weekend afternoon is a pretty good idea, try this.
