MAGMA: VOLCANIC DISASTER (2006) ** Why oh why won't the dweeb scientists ever listen to the cool scientists? Ok, let's see, there's art, cinema, movies, television and absolute crap. Lots of movies, even ones made for the silver screen are television. Television can be ok. This is television. It's awkward, it's predictable, it's more time consuming than enlightening, but time passes without any particularized cerebral rebellion against what's going on. It could easily have been worse. Amy Jo Johnson's enthusiasm.I'm not going to call it great acting, but it's good for things here. It's not difficult to think of situations in which it wouldn't work at all, but you can say that about almost anything except for Miles Davis. So they're gonna try and save the world with nukes and volcanoes, and the stupid bureaucrats are gonna try and stop 'em and the military's just gonna do what it's told. I love the way that the most predictable centerpiece of any piece of low common denominator schlop is the inevitable triumph of the enlightened. Ah, you don't have to be an immortal to wonder at the clouds encircling Olympus, and to pay homage howevers best you can. This isn't an offensive way.
