THE MOUSEHOLE CAT (1994) **1/2 It's a sweet little film with tasteful animation, about an operatic fishing cat. What? Sweet film, tasteful animation, operatic cat.what's funny? I kind of have a thing for Cornwall anyway, so I guess I'd be relatively disposed, but don't forget that I'm not always enthusiastic about cats, though we have had some very good ones. Bunny Elvis the Cat the Family Dog the St. Paddy's Day Derby Wearer for one, but that's an entirely different story. Screamer was great too, but again, only peripherally related to anything having to do with this film in the most tenuous manner. But this cat is good too, and so is its fisherman. I kind of like the feline metaphysics of it all, the animation of the sea is particularly wonderful and it's all very relaxing.
