PRINCESS OF MARS (2009) *1/2 Ok, a Special Forces guy gets shot up in Afghanistan, then modern medicine teleports him-fully recovered-to Mars…not the one in our solar system, but a different Mars. It was, apparently, an experimental treatment. It's the kind of movie where it might be argued that the most polished performance is that of Traci Lords, and no her acting has not suddenly and dramatically improved. But the tusked Mars monsters are kind of cool, it's all quite silly and knows it doesn't have any thing else. Oh, they may have considered trying to draw some parallel between the other-Mars situation and Afghanistan a little bit at first, but they realized that might be tricky and wisely abandoned the effort. Not worth watching, but I watched it and I'm not mad about it.
