SCOOBY-DOO AND THE GOBLIN KING (2008) ** Wow, Scooby-Doo land at Halloween, should be great like Christmas in New York City, right?! Well, apparently not every year. It's a fair-to-middlin' Scooby tale; enough to keep you going but lacking the genius of Alien Invaders , or even Zombie Island . There are funny bits, but they play too many cards too fast and spend way too much time on the headless horseman. I don't like the headless horseman, the headless horseman's stupid. All the zappin' back and forth shape-shifting in goblinland is pretty funny at times, but after a bunch of these and all the series and all...I'm starting to wonder if Shag and Scoob can really ever carry it without the gang involved, at least at a greater level than this. Anyway, it's cool and pretty funny, not awful.
