THE 7 ADVENTURES OF SINBAD (2010) *1/2 Ok, Mr. Sinbad is a courageous young successful corporatist, brave and good but suffering perhaps somewhat from overconfidence and impetuosity. There is much yet to overcome. It doesn't help that he's played by that guy from "Days of Our Lives" (my wife told me), but isn't particularly bad in comparison to most everyone around him. It is the film that posits the position that of all the blights and plagues that have come upon the earth, corporatism is the worst. Point for that. But it's so stupid-it knows it but won't quite let itself admit it to the point to allow it to get funny. The graphics are so bad, I was just thinking how it might have been something if they would have given in and gone all silly animated, like in A Life Aquatic. And then there's even a similar scene, so you can compare and contrast. If you like monsters, pretty much no matter what (like me), there's a little bit in it, it keeps moving along and all. Then it's over and you-like the earth-are saved.
