SEX AND THE CITY (2008) Ø A drama taking place in the bile duct of a mature elephant would be more entertaining, involve more sympathetic characters and depict a preferable social milieu. Sarah Jessica Parker's monstrous wart is the best part, and believe me I'm not an afficianado of warts. They establish-very early and with no possibility of redemption-that these are very dull people who will do nothing of any interest no matter what...they're not much, they are constitutionally incapable of thinking of anything else, and that's all very teleological because they can't think much anyway. Other than wart sightings the only thing to do is try and figure which character you despise the most: this does change, with whoever has their mouth open assuming the new lead, but ultimately-despite Parker's great advantage in screen time (and narration, is she the worst, most grating and annoying narrator ever? Probably not, but buttom three)-Kristin Davis is probably the very worst. I admit that I've never seen two seconds of the tv show, but I saw a few minutes of "Desperate Housewives" once and I figured they'd be kind of the same...nothing is like this . How can vacuous materialism be so fucking dull ? I mean, it can be banal, exotic, tragic or funny...the only funny thing about this is how they keep going on and on and on with no hope, not the faint e st glint, in sight or even imaginable. It literally made me nauseous and gave me a headache. Absent consideration of the terrible suffering of rabies, it's very difficult to think of a more painful way to spend your time.
