STONEHENGE APOCALYPSE (2010) **1/2 This is a good one! No, really. I mean, no one knows who made Stonehenge or why-except that they were real smart-so why can't it be a doomsday device machine endangering the entire world in conjunction with the pyramids? Well it can, obviously, and this is what could happen, you see. Why are government scientists never able to figure things out? Because the smarter ones get paid more money by corporations. So why can' the corporate ones figure it out? Because the smartest ones won't live like that. So it's always up to the maverick wildcat rugged, discredited, individualist. I think it's a very credible premise. Neither writers nor actors take the dialogue too seriously, and at points openly mock either it or each other, so it's fairly entertaining on multiple levels. Don't ask me why, but I just get a sense that Torri Higginson could play on an aesthetic field ever higher than this, not that it's a consistent or great performance, but with a real film and director I'd give her a shot.
