THE DAY TIME ENDED (1980) ** I have to admit, I kind of like this movie. I know it's not very good. What I like about it is that Jim Davis and Dorothy Malone are such a believable and likeable couple-not that their acting is anything to get all excited about, just that they do seem to belong together, out there in the California desert in a comfortable mod hacienda. The special effects are absolutely laughable by 21st century standards-and even those of 1980-so someone else might like that even more. The scriptwriters seem to run out of glue to keep the plot together down the stretch, but if there's something you like about it, that probably wasn't it anyway. Well worth a coupla hours in the afternoon, and if you have a nap somewhere in the middle you need not feel bad at all. Almost perfect, by some hopelessly unambitious standard that couldn't glimpse perfection with the Hubbell telescope.
