'NEATH THE ARIZONA SKIES (1934) ** They apparently didn't have any real Indian children back in Hollywood then, so there's this poor little white girl with a dyed-black mop on her head. The bad g uy is named Sam...Sam Black (but it's really Yakima Canutt!). The good guy is named J....Joh......John Wayne. Yea! Why do they have to ride everywhere on their horses, why don't they just call each other on their mobiles? Also the bullets seem to take a long time between getting shot and hitting anyone, they must have gone very slow back then It's that old formula, not great but well-meaning and semi-whimsical...I mean, even John Wayne...can you imagine Sly Stallone or Brad Pitt or Shaft or Bruce Lee...Al Pacino, Angelina Jolie...Olympia Dukakis,..Edith Bunker?...waiting on the cavalry, or sheriff's office, or mob of kind and angry villagers, or whatever...to come save them?
