CINDERELLA II: DREAMS COME TRUE (2002) * Just because the original wasn't great doesn't mean that it wasn't a tough act to follow. If you think about it, it's at least as tricky to expand upon an uninteresting premise. They take three cracks at it, two of which are so feeble and dull that repeating anything about them is tantamount to an aesthetic sin. The initial plot line, that Cinderella might become disillusioned with the regimented life of a monarch, is by far the more promising but collapses rather quickly when it becomes apparent that the writers can't think of anything that might not be fun about it. Traditional Cinderella animation, which means cute mice.
