THE QUIET MAN (1952) ** John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara, but the real star is the Irish countryside. He gets knocked out and she won't hump him because she doesn't have her table (perhaps this plot strand could have been developed), and then because her brother owes 'em money. It goes on like that for awhile. She complains about everything except, without explanation, her incredibly bad red hair dye. About halfway through the writers give up on the plot entirely and just have a long fight, which makes everyone very happy. Mr. Wayne does a good job delivering some good lines in that way he does, Ms. O'Hara is quite convincing in her bitchiness, and there's a lot of stout being drunk what with it being Ireland and all.
