RED SUN (1971) ** Ego victims from various cultures converge in the Wild West! Charles Bronson is the Wile E. Coyote-like outlaw who is double-crossed by suave, well-dressed French psychopath Alain Delon as they rob the train containing the Ambassador to Japan, who is unsuccessfully protected by Samurai Toshirô Mifune. Mifune and Bronson set out to catch Delon, for various reasons, but are way-layed at the cathouse in which Prussian sex sponge Ursula Andress is Exhibit A amongst a gaggle of svelte Mexican gals (including Capucine). Andress runs into trouble with Comanche's, but is saved by Bronson, who also has one obligatory topless scene. Just when Delon is about to off Bronson and Mifume they are saved by the Commanche who also want to get Bronson, but Bronson, Mifume, and Delon kill off the entire nation (at 5 seconds per it adds up), in large part with samurai swords. Sublime breakfast scene in the cathouse with the player piano playing "There's No Place like Home." Shots of Andress with a rifle, and her screeching, make you realize that it's already too late to make the ultimate Baader-Meinhof flick.
