SEE SPOT RUN (2001) ** The FBI, it turns out, is not merely oppressing criminals (intentionally) and everyone else (many unintentionally), but is also an obstacle to the self-realization of truely soulful canines. Well, I already knew that, what else do you have? David Arquette as a postal worker cool enough to hang out with a black guy even when they're not at work. He's good at it, too; doesn't overplay the part the way most honkeys would think they had to. Just enough groove in his gait to let you know-perhaps because he wasn't raised by white parents born in those years they all were, but I digress. The dogs are cool as always, several scenes elicit genuine laughter, and Paul Sorvino absolutely rules as, what else?, the horrid gangster. If you like that kind of stuff, watch it. If not, I'll cut to the chase: the dog will overcome obstacles, the boy will love the dog, Arquette will get the girl, and the girl will have a bath.
