20 MILLION MILES TO EARTH (1957) ** Embryonic Venusian viscous gives way to creature with a horrendous thyroid problem and a very long tail. Within minutes the Americans are trying to catch it, and the Italians, naturally, to kill it. They put it in the Rome zoo for awhile, but it keeps talking shit and offends an elephant. A dramatic standoff ensues after which the long-tailed thing heads, like everyone else that just hit town, towards the Coliseum. Great effects by Ray Harryhausen who prevailed upon the producer to shoot in Italy since he'd never been there and really wanted to go. The Ymir rules Godzilla's ass!
