VALLEY OF THE KINGS (1954) * So what does a boy get for a girl who only wants evidence of monotheism in ancient Egypt? Well, killing her husband is good. It's incredible the lengths that they used to have to go to in order to justify adultery and divorce. I mean...what's worse, any of it or this film? It's a tomb robber movie where the exciting bits are a sand storm and a wrestling match. The solitary strength of the script-which has nothing of consequence to say about anything-is a few zippy one-liners of mid-20th century machismo self-importance. Sadly, these are delivered by Robert Taylor. Ok, so it's unintelligent, poorly done, uninteresting in nearly lethal measure, and not even attractive in its patheticness. What's good about it? Those were the days when they went on location where we're now often stuck with back lots. Several of the locations are great. But hell, they don't even got a Wal-Mart!
