VISIT TO A SMALL PLANET (1960) *** Very good keeps rolling along plot for a Lewis flick, based on Gore Vidal play. Vidal is of course a great genius because he writes very well and lives in Italy because he can't bear to watch what's happening to the United States. Jerry Lewis is even better than usual, and a couple of the visual gags are everything you could hope for. The Mary Had a Little Lamb bit is even funnier. The poor chick though, you hope she wouldn't marry anybody! The beatniks are very hip, if not utterly courageous, and the cars at Inspiration Point don't have roofs!
