WHAT'S UP, TIGER LILY? (1966) *1/2 It's kind of a good idea for a Saturday Night Live skit, 15 minutes max. Woody Allen takes a ridiculous Japanese gangster B-movie, totally redoes the sound track dialogue and all, and yields a really stupid gangster movie with many absurd and several funny lines. Some of the facial expressions no doubt go better with the new plot but eventually the viewer wishes he'd had a least thirty drinks to keep things fresh. I'm very pleased that someone saw this and realized Woody would be a good director, I don't know that I would have had the vision.
