WHITE MEN CAN'T JUMP (1992) *1/2 Great trash-talkin' and basketball movement, but there are a couple problems: for one everybody is dribbling up around their neck which means they gonna bounce the ball once on any decent playground before someone else runs off with it. For two, Rosi Perez is horrible. Wesley Snipes is great, and him and Woody Harrelson have that great buddy energy that would have done it if the script had been decent. It wasn't. The film is all but unbearable unless basketball is being played. Ain' nobody in this movie can hoop like my man Lawrence, legend of the Government Street playgrounds who jammed with a joint in one hand. He' whip ya ass with the joint in his hand, but when he left it in his mouth it was all ovuh.
