LITTLE NICKY (2000) 1/2* At his best Adam Sandler is a spectacular comedic talent, at his worst he's a self-centered bore capable of inducing nausea on a scale unrivaled by anyone besides Jim Carrey. We don't see any great Sandler here, only the very occasional glimpse of mediocre (the Joe Namath joke was pretty good), and a near lethal dose of the putrid. Ozzy Osborne, who put on the single dumbest of the tens of thousands of musical performances that I've ever witnessed, belongs in this film. Bill Walton probably does not. Certainly Rodney Dangerfield doesn't, this shit ain't no way to get respect, buddy. You'd think that with a palate as broad as good and evil, the hypocrisy of the self-righteous and the redemptive value of a twinkle in the eye, the agony of denial and the joy of sex, somewhere Sandler would have found something interesting to say. But he did not.
