MOONFLEET (1955) *1/2 It's a Fritz Lang, so there are some great shots of a strange angel headstone, a tremendous treatment of the English countryside, and wonderful dark blue variations. That's it. Treasure Island, with Great Britain as the island. It goes from total lulls to alleged climaxes that are more like minor variations. Stewart Granger does a credible job but never seems bad enough to run a cell of mean bootleggers, though he would more than pass for a liquor store owner. Nothing wrong with it if you just want to sleep through a Saturday afternoon with swashbuckling light in the background. Liliane Montevecchi is a most excellent gypsy.
