MULTIPLICITY (1996) * Just in case you think there's nothing funny about cloning, this film is out to prove it. I've always liked Michael Keaton a little bit, he's good blue collar in a Hollywood kind of way, but they can't think that Andie MacDowell is so old that this is the best script they'll give her. Of course, she is doing hair dye ads...see what happens! Anyway he gets cloned by some mad scientists in Malibu, doesn't tell anyone, and sends the double off to do his work so he'll have more time to golf. It goes on, there aren't any particularly funny lines, when Keaton tries to make something out of nothing he's more irritating than funny, there's no reason to care much when all the clones hump on MacDowell, actually it's kind of good because you know it will irritate Keaton, all the wild unpredictability has been obvious since the opening credits. They probably clone this film in hell.
