ONCE UPON A CRIME (1992) ** Gentle light-hearted Monte Carlo murder mystery. George Hamilton brilliantly overplays his part of a debonair gigolo whose very appearance summons flamenco guitar from the soundtrack. John Candy is funny, Jim Belushi irritating, Ornelia Muti continental, and Cybill Shepherd histrionically cranky but sympathetic (she's married to Belushi). There's not much to it besides that, but how many opportunities in life are there to see Hamilton win at the end and romance a dachsund on a yacht?
