OUR WIFE (1931) **1/2 Oliver Hardy delivers his lines with the gravitas of a greengrocer expounding on politics, Stan Laurel his like a jaded lecturer who always lacked fire. Therein lies their connective secret. That and the 20-minute time clock which should not be underrated, particularly in episodes like this one in which they spend half their time getting into a car. Romance is on the plate, and Hardy's babe looks like a five course meal, at least, but unsurprisingly they end up marrying each other.
