DJANGO SFIDA SARTANA (1970) *1/2 To what little extent it makes sense it's nonsense, but you can tell it's a spaghetti western in all the usual ways. More importantly, the hero rides around in a very long tweed cape, and the mauler rolls around the mud in ruffled shirts. The bad guys identify themselves by wearing gold necklaces in hairy chests, and no one dies immediately upon being shot. No, instead they moan and roam about, and of course conclude by rolling down hills. The budget being what it apparently was, there's not a drop of ketchup to be found. Instead guys with half their belly blown off just hold it in while they moan around. Or maybe it all got used as marinara during breaks. Some of it is reasonably amusing (usually intentionally), much of it is nauseating (very intentionally), and the best part is when Pasquale Squitteri amplifies the arrival of the bad man. Moving pictures serve best, maybe, when setting up stills. At lest moving pictures like this anyway.
