IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE II (1996) *1/2 Aloe vera plants, Jerry Garcia ties, oh my sweet California desert days. It's one of those movies that inevitably reminds you of something else, mainly because nothing's going on. Well, not nothing, but the aliens and strange rocks or whatever and everything...nothing seems to be going on anyway. It wouldn't be a clever plot coming from a seven year old. But that's largely ok, because it's an interesting little community, and the acting is way better than what you'd expect out of something like this, especially Jerry Giles. I guess you figure that everything will turn out fine in the end, and maybe it's not enough to really care about. I mean, it's not real or anything, and that desert rhythm's crawled mysteriously off the screen and into your spleen. Aaaargh! See, I told you it would eventually make you think of something else. That's its strength.
