THE TROLLENBERG TERROR (1958) ** Extraterrestrial giant eyeballs with tentacles battle scientists with Molotovs in the Alps, but not until the last twenty minutes. Until then it's a fairly dreary story, partially zested out by weird performances from Janet Munro and Warren Mitchell. Not necessarily enough to keep you awake if you're tired and it's raining outside and the sound's low. The most interesting thing about it is probably thinking on how strange phenomena are treated by the CIA and Interpol and MI6 and...you know UFOs and bigfoot and ESP and like that. Which makes it a historic sci-fi film, I guess, the one that makes reality seem interesting in comparison.
